The Church is identified as the "body of Christ."
Jesus say that the church would belong to Him.
Those who accepted Peter's message were baptized "for the remission of sins," or in order to be saved.
Those who were saved by the Lord were added to the Church.
Those who were saved were told to "join the Church of your choice." (doctrine: teaching; instruction)

The first century disciples were called "Christians."
We read about different kinds of Christians (example: Baptist Christians, Methodist Christians, Catholic Christians, etc.)
Paul try to persuade Agrippa to be a Baptist, Methodist, Catholic or Presbyterian.
I Corinthians 1:10-13; 3:1-7; 4:6
Paul wanted the people in the church at Corinth to "speak the same thing."
Paul was pleased that there were divisions among the Christians there.
Did Paul approve or disapprove of the Corinthians calling themselves after different men?
God will be pleased today if we call ourselves after different men (Luther) or doctrines (Baptist) rather than after Christ.
God does not approve of believers dividing themselves up by different denominational names today.

Different congregations of these Christians were called "churches of Christ" and "churches of God."
The Bible never refers to Baptist Churches, Catholic Churches, Methodist Churches, etc.
